Poster Competition

In 2022, APLHIV initiated another intervention to promote interest among communities, marginalized groups, and the masses to educate them about myths, stigma, and discrimination surrounding HIV, Key Populations, and other at-risk groups. Now this event has become a permanent annual event.

Interested people are requested at the national level to submit their “Hand Made” posters. Each year a theme is given to guide the poster designs. An independent Committee consisting of partners from the Public Sector, the UN system, and communities reviews the submissions and finalizes the top three (3) positions.

The winners are decorated with trophies, shields, certificates, and cash prizes. Students from colleges, universities, communities, and individuals from across Pakistan participate in the competition.

In 2024, around 100 posters from all over Pakistan were received. This initiative has greatly contributed to raising awareness, combating stigma, and breaking the silence surrounding HIV. We believe these small interventions will play a major role in changing social norms regarding marginalized communities in Pakistan.
