Project Description

DUNE was launched in May 2015 with an objective to mobilize the PUD community leadership to influence policies, laws, programmers and funds and to promote actions that empower the PUD community and ensure their meaningful involvement to make a positive change in their lives. DUNE is now a registered organization and hosted by the APLHIV. Training and capacity building workshops have been organized both for the PUD Community, services providers and community members to ensure their meaningful engagement in response to their needs and tailored interventions. Additionally, capacity building health & Human Rights, leadership skills, Advocacy skills and communication skills have been organized to ensure that voices are communicated and heard.

DUNE ensured engagement of PUD community in consultative processes for Global Fund Grant Cycle 6 and 7. DUNE was at lead to organizing a national level consultative workshop on OAMT for the Drug User’s community.

Under various initiatives, DUNE has represented the PUD Community. DUNE was instrumental in conducting a research study on access of Dus to human rights and services. CLM of prevention and testing services was another area where DUNE focused and CLM was conducted at national level.

Over a period, DUNE and its representatives were capacitated to an extent that DUNE was notified as a member of Technical Working Group to undertake IBBS Round-6 in Pakistan. Additionally, DUNE is also a member of the National CLM task Force
