Stop TB Partnership Projects-CFCS Round 9 & 10

Project Description

APLHIV won CFCS Round-9 and Round 10 through a competitive process and signed agreements with Stop TB partnership. Both projects mainly focused on mobilizing, empowering and activating TB Communities to have their voice in TB response. As a 1st step the APLHIV launched 10 TB Community Support Groups [TB CSGs] across Pakistan. Another 5 TB CSGs were launched with support from our Asia Pacific Regional Partner thus taking the total number to 15 across Pakistan with the aim to contribute to initiation & promotion of TB activism at grassroots level to ensure effective engagement of TB communities in national TB response. Capacity Building of these TB CSGs on their roles and responsibilities was also carried out. Additionally, over 300 TB community members were capacitated in a variety of subjects such as Human & Health Rights, Stigma & Discrimination, CRG Guidelines, Leadership, Communication, Advocacy Skills, Rights Based Advocacy to name but a few.

Development of TB Community Mobilization Strategy was one of the activities of the project, which was developed through a broad-based consultative process.  In addition, TB Stigma Reduction Strategy was developed for the TB Community through a broad-based consultative process. Advocacy on access to innovative TB diagnostic, sensitizing the stakeholders on UNHLM and the commitments made by Pakistan, developments of TB informative materials, development of integrated TB-COVID informative material, development of training module on Right Based Advocacy, imparting training on Right Based advocacy, provision of Tele-medicine and legal services were other innovative activities to serve the communities.
